Located south of Morgan Hill off of Highway 101 and north of San Benito County, Gilroy is a city best known for its garlic crop and often referred to as “The Garlic Capital of the World.” This area is one of the few regions in Santa Clara County that has still retained its farming roots and small town feel while still developing. With a large amount of construction during the last building boom, and likely to return in the near future as Gilroy has available areas of open space for builders to develop large tracts of land. There are a variety of things to do in Gilroy. With over 145 stores, the Gilroy Premium Outlets is one of California’s largest shopping centers. You can also find Gilroy Gardens, founded by Michael Bonfante where you can enjoy a day at the amusement park with six beautiful gardens, a half-acre Water Oasis attraction, and over 20 rides. Best known for the annual Garlic Festival, visitors come from all around the world to enjoy tangy food, the upscale art and entertainment, the cook-off and so much more.
